Kathmandu-Nepal on Saturday reported 1,527 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 643,580.
Similarly, 801 people tested positive in a total of 4,296 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Saturday, 3,363,666 PCR and 200,992 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,837PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 19 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 9,198. The number of active cases stands at 27,716.
According to the ministry, 606,666 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 3,066 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 376 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 246 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 81 in Lalitpur and 49 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 379 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 57 in Province 2, 577 in Bagmati, 266 in Gandaki, 175 in Lumbini, 35 in Karnali and 38 Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 11 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 26 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Saturday, 627 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 181—39 in Province 1, 112 in Bagmati, 14 in Gandaki, nine in Lumbini, three in Karnali, and four in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported 1,391 new coronavirus cases and 34 death. Similarly, 1,857 new coronavirus cases and 33 deaths were recorded on Thursday and 1,889 new coronavirus cases and 41 deaths were recorded on Wednesday.
