Maoist Centre likely to elect new leadership on Saturday

Kathmandu, Dec 31-The ongoing eighth general convention of the CPN (Maoist Centre) has been extended until Saturday despite the party passed its chairman’s political document.

In order to pass the party’s statute draft, the closed-door session has been summoned at 11:00 am Saturday. The issue of leadership selection will begin only after approval of the statute draft, it is said.

As proposed, the Maoist Centre would select 15-office bearers and 299 central committee members.
Chairman of the Maoist Centre’s Election Commission Bishnu Pukar Shrestha said that the election process of the party leadership will advance only after the approval of the statute draft. RSS
